not me but I do have a nice Bright flash light that works well.... now when I was helping the FFA class the advisor went down to ace and picked up 5 cheap lights that were small so that the kids could get their hands around the light and the egg, it worked ok. even though the lights were not super bright. I would suggest fresh batteries.I can't remember who I was talking to about the high lumen flashlights for candlers! View attachment 2028519
I use a small high lumen flashlight that works really well but it's no longer available for sale on Amazon. I ordered a couple more that look similar to what I have (1200 lumen) because my friend needs a good candler too. I'll let you know what I think of them!
I'm glad your chick made it! I think Valor unknowingly may have also saved my future tough hatchers by given me experience and reducing my fear of assisted hatch.
How is the chick now, @Willowspirit?
Wow, awesome!! Thank you for sharing the results of your comparison!I found it! @AgnesGray ! Sorry about that, lol. So all 3 of these flashlights are a good size for candling but they are not created equal! The first one, the 1300 lumen Sofirn, is the flashlight I have been using for over a year now, it works great but isn't currently available.
All were purchased on Amazon and each time I made sure I was getting a small enough flashlight that I could easily cover the flashlight with my hand while holding the egg to candle, with high lumens, that is rechargeable.
So my two new flashlights are the WUBEN 1200 lumen and the Hoxida 1200 lumen (brand or seller name, I'm unsure). The WUBEN is actually slightly brighter than my Sofirn and I'm confident will be perfect for candling. The no name, Hoxida seller flashlight is dim in comparison to both of the other flashlights. I'm going to get a few different colored eggs to test candling on and post in a moment.

Wow, impressive difference of brightness on the wuben light! It's crazy how many choices there are in small and very bright flashlights! Thanks again for comparing them and sharing the details on them!So my attempt at a flashlight comparison isn't as clear as I would like it to be but this is a medium brown Marans egg and a Blue egg, not fertilized because all of my eggs are on lockdown. All 3 would work well for candling but it's clear to see that the first two are much better and the WUBEN may very well be my favorite from now on! I hope this helps!
Here's the link for the WUBEN if interested, the identical flashlight in this listing but in black actually has a 5% coupon available I just wanted silver.
