Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

lol, Ok so this was my first time using my daughter's GoPro and my first time uploading anything to YouTube. 6 hatched and 4 more to go! I'll try to see if I can record one hatching.

You should set it on time lapse and just leave
I'm going to use my brothers go pro and keep it plug in the whole time because I'm going to be at school

I had 2 that pipped on the pointed end and came out fine. I'm not sure why they pipped there, I've never seen it until the last hatch I did.

When I candled that egg last night the air cell was kind of flat and went from the top of the egg back about 2/3 the distance of the egg and then on the other side it went to about 1/2 way. Where the chick pipped was way down towards the skinny end but I don't think it will hit any veins since it seems the membrane is more on the other side of the egg. It just might end up having trouble cause the shell is harder on that side.

I feel like a bad person looking at your pics with the air cells traced I stopped doing it after my first hatch. I didn't even mark the date on the eggs this time because I put it in my phone.

I have to mark the dates or when I add new eggs I won't know which is which lol. But I do put it in my phone too and keep a record of which chicks hatch from which batch and the fertility and hatch rates just because I like to play with numbers

I'd leave it until it's 24 hours after day 21. Try to let it do it's own thing. Some will say to do the safety hole, but I think there is sufficient air in the egg for the chick after it internally pips.

I agree I would do the same leave it unless it's showing signs of distress pipped and you can hear it sounds weaker because it's been working so long. Generally I help day 22 if needed.

That would be a great idea, but my daughter broke her tripod. Besides...I literally have no idea what I'm doing with this camera or YouTube, lol!! I'm learning as I go.

I did good keeping track of everything my first hatch but after that I stopped... not sure why. I'm going to do a log I think of all my hatches for 2020, but I'm sure I'll forget to do something
