Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

Aww! So many little peeps! How many hatched total? Chicks can hatch days late when there are cold spots in the incubator but since all of the actively hatching chicks are out, I would try to candle the eggs that are left to see if you can see an internal pip or movement. You can also listen to the egg for tapping or scratching sounds, or lightly tapping it to see if the chick chirps.
I second this. Exactly what I'd do.

Baby 3 is here. All Ameraucanas so far.

After you all are having so much action with your eggs and hatching etc I spent a good 1/2 just staring at my eggs. The one with the smallish air cell was moving for sure, a little rocking around, the one with the great air cell moved, I think. You know when you KNOW you saw it move but you want to see it again to confirm your weren't seeing things???:hmm Well thats why I sat there for 1/2 hour. Im pretty sure it moved but I didnt see it move again. Day 18 here..

Okay I have to say I really like my new candler. From the top on newer eggs day 5 to day 10 I can see the veining very well. As they get older up to day 14-18 if I candle through the bottom I can see the movement of the baby really well.

Here are the stats so far:
1/22 set 15 eggs 5 fertile 4 are going to make it to lock down. Strong movement and big healthy babies by the looks. Currently day 14 lock down starts on Sunday afternoon.

1/27 set 9 eggs total 3 fertile out of 9 I can see the veining very well and occasionally I can see the baby moving around. They seem to not like the light so tend to run from it which makes it harder. They start day 10 tonight at 9pm since I set them late and lock down on the 13th.

Biggest shock is the last set. I decided that I would only set 6 eggs on 1/31 and they are on day 6 currently I can see loads of veining and growth in the eggs. out of 6 eggs 4 are showing growth. Day 18 begins Monday the 17th so we should have the hatcher going started on the 12th through the 20th with new babies every few days.

This was the candler I used. Made by Lifebasis it comes with a 18650 battery so it's rechargeable but is also tapered so it makes a better seal on the egg so I get a clearer view of the eggs insides. It was only 10$ so fairly cheap but it works really well.
