Well, I like those too so we're all good!As it turns out, looking back at my feed, it's mostly my house cats!
Keep watching. There’s a listing that’s pretty low right now. I waited 2 months & finally got a dozen for 45$ which is the lowest I’d seen in a while. Can’t wait to see what hatches! 2/19 is my day.So jealous! I bid on some pita pinta from gff on eBay, but they got too pricy, gorgeous birds!
Do you think maybe in an incubator we have to raise humidity once they pip because they have a fan blowing air around and under a broody they do not. Maybe is the moving air that dries the membranes so you need to up the humidity to compensate??? Just trying to think this through logically but Im so new to hatching Im sure Im way off base.I've always wondered that too because if it was a duck I could see humidity rising and such. But to me there's no spike in humidity or whatnot on day 18 when you have a broody.
So I'm unsure where they got the idea of you having to even have a certain humidity and why they think on day 18 you should increase it because I have found the opposite true.
My first hatch I did do it by the book with the water and I just had problem after problem.
All my other hatches since then I have not added any water and my chicks have had an easier time hatching, they are more alive and alert when they come out, none of them have been attached to the membrane, none of them are sticky and gross.
I honestly think us humans overthink things and we try to figure it all out in this world, but I think we need to realize that we never will![]()

This makes sense to my brain! Haha
I had 30* snow, sleet, freezing rain OH JOY!How cold is it where You are this morning?
Oh no! I hope they all look good! I've hatched every poultry species I can get my hands on alongside the hatch-a-longs in this section. I think it's more fun to get to see all the different types of chicks hatching! I really want to see your quail hatch so I really hope that you stay with us!![]()
26 up here and the same snow sleet and freezing rain scheduled for 18 inches by tomorrow nightI had 30* snow, sleet, freezing rain OH JOY!
I’m considering buying a second incubator to act as a hatcher so I don’t loose my mind trying to coordinate ship dates when I buy eggs on eBay...those of you who use 2 or more incubators, what do you recommend getting as a hatcher? I’m thinking a second incuview...or get a new incubator for the first 18 days and use that as my hatcher. Maybe one that turns upright since I do shipped eggs...
