I probably look ridiculous when I do my egg topsies... I usually have the flashlight in my mouth pointing at the egg I have sterilized gloves on and I have the egg in one hand and my tool in the other hand

I use a screw because it helps you not to slip too deep. I candle and mark the air cell, then I score with the screw in the center of the air cell. Once you have a little hole, you want to pick at the shell rather than continuing to poke with the screw. This is all precautionary in case you still have a living chick.

I second that I use a screw for the intial air hole and then widen with tweezers from there make sure to disinfect all tools and your hands to be safe.

I usually have Pedialyte on hand because chicks that can't make it out of the egg are usually quite tired and need the extra boost.

I have an entire kit that I keep laid out beside me for the event, I'm right there with you! lol, I just wash my hands really well though and go in bare handed because I'm so clumsy as it is...

Sounds about right to me. I don't wear the gloves but I do wash my hands very well and disinfect the tools before using and after each egg. Just in case.

Same, but I use Nutridrench for poultry.

I have so many medical supplies that I could probably have a hospital at my house. I have special IV meds I've been on for 10 years and they will never be stopped for the rest of my life so I have medical supplies for that.

I have alcohol swabs, iodine swabs, sterile drapes, sterile gloves, sterile needles and syringes, sterile water, sterile masks, sterile dressings... Pretty much everything needed for any emergency
