It's definitely a possibility, it sure is hard to guess!

I've seen that liquid stuff when the humidity was too high. How were the other chicks that hatched? Is it still moving?

If you see the belly, do you see yolk or bloody veins? You got to get the head out if it's to have a chance.

Did 18 days at 35-40 humidity. All others hatched pretty well.

They're beautiful!!! Excellent hatch all around. Remind me again what your plan is for them?

Original goal was 20 to 30 laying hens. 5 to 6, maybe 7, roosters. Keeping the the best of the breed so I can create more of whatever kind I want/need. Already have some nice roosters, so will have to cull some for dog food once grown.

That’s all. Nothing fancy. Just hoping there aren’t 35 cockerels in that box!

I see some bloody veins still inside on the membrane down below the air cell

If you can, look between the legs at the belly area. If there's no yolk, then it would've already detached from the veins and they aren't really going anywhere. Just slow and careful like you've been doing.
