That's a bummer! I also have one this hatch. It happened on day 17/18 when the incubator got bumped. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Your egg looks like it's missing tiny pieces of shell. And it's down to the membrane. Is that correct? What day is it on?

Yes tiny peices are missing it's just the membrane in some spots we are on day 6 it happen on day 3

I hope it works for you! It worked for me. Looks good. Was it alive when you candled it?

Sounds great. I read about the nail polish, it sounds perfect. Let me know if it hatches :)

It probably won't. Just candle it once or twice a week and be gentle with it. It will ooze and smell quite a while before it would explode. If you check every week it won't have time to turn without you noticing it.

I don't understand. I've always heard to use pencils (never magic markers) for marking eggs to hatch.
But it's ok to use nail polish?
The solvent in Sharpie markers evaporates in under a second and shouldn't go thru an egg shell. But nail polish uses a slow solvent and takes several minutes to dry/evaporate, giving it ample time to breach the shell. I hope the Polish doesn't hurt the baby in the shell!:pop
