Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

Good to know! Hopefully new one will get here tomorrow! Old one seems to get hotter than it should.

I have limited experience with hatcheries. 5 of my birds came from mpc, the rest i hatched out or they came from around here. I'm suddenly nervous aout it. Haven't bee able to find white giants around here though so I guess we'll see.

Assisted first chick getting out of the egg. he was malpositioned with his feet over his head but fully ready to hatch. Pipped last night while I was gone and was attempting to zip but not able to turn to do it. Cute little baby. The other two eggs are definitely internally pipped. I saw the beaks in both and heard peeping. I made a tiny air hole in each since I won't be here to assist and will hope they get out on their own while I'm at work all day today.

Noticed when checking on the chick that egg two is pipped but very far back on the egg. The air cell looked very long over the top of the egg not really like you expect it to look. Hopefully the chick can get out okay. :fl
I had 2 that pipped on the pointed end and came out fine. I'm not sure why they pipped there, I've never seen it until the last hatch I did.

I wanted to ask just in case I think I have a silkie egg with 4 standard
The farm that I got them from has standard chickens and 2 silkie hens

So what I was asking is do they hatch at different times and is there anything I need to do differently

No silkie eggs are the same as standard chicken eggs. Same incubation time and same everything. Good luck with your hatch!

We have lots of activity this morning! First two Silkie peeps popped out within seconds of each other! 5 others are externally pipped that I can see!:ya:jumpy

While I was counting pips in the Silkie incubator I heard a peep from the Salmon Faverolle incubator and saw this!

I feel like a bad person looking at your pics with the air cells traced 🙈 I stopped doing it after my first hatch. I didn't even mark the date on the eggs this time because I put it in my phone.
