Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

Salmon Faverolles had their photo shoot first since I'm taking a couple of them to their new home in less than an hour. It's impossible to get 10 chicks to hold still in a photo! :lau
I made a mistake earlier, the Silkies were 100% fertility, 90% hatch rate. I had 2 infertile eggs (so 83% fertility) with the Salmon Faverolles and 100% hatch rate of fertilized eggs. Anyway, here's the first batch of cuties! Now to get the Silkies lined up.

Cute I really want to hatch and sell

Congrats on all the new hatches! My last little nugget went into the brooder. It’s astonishing how much they grow in just a week !! It finished its hatch yesterday was a good distraction. My aunt passed away yesterday after a tough battle with cancer.

I also have a little turd that started crowing at 1 week old! Igot a picture and a band on it. Luckily someone is buying some chicks tomorrow, and said they’d take him !View attachment 2031132

I'm so sorry for your loss. :hugs

I've had a few really early crowers too (I remember one crowing the day he hatched)! Their little crows sound so funny! what a cute picture catching the little guy in the act! :love

So sorry you're aunt passed away.

You're babies are absolutely adorable. I dread the early crowers in the bunch lol. They always make things much more interesting. I do have a few people looking for roosters so maybe if they aren't exceptional ones I want to keep they can go to those customers.

And finally, the Silkies! I want to keep all of them! :love

still 1 chick in the incubator when I got up this morning but 5 more pipped. Took the dogs to the vet and was gone an hour and a half and got home and was going to place the lone chick in the brooder and there was now 3. so to let them dry a little more I ran tot eh farm to water teh greenhouse and check feed and such of the chickens and came home to 4 and 5 pipped.

grabbed the 4 loose ones and placed in the brooder and now off to the doc for me, sinus infection, and will be gone 2 hours or so. Hopefully the last few will be out waiting for me when I get back. that would put this hatch at 90% and on shipped eggs to boot.

Down to 4 eggs in the incubator growing well. All 4 have different air cells, egg NO4 has the air cell dipping further down on one side... But it's not loose and wobbly anymore. 🤞

Better photo of my mini chicks 🥰
