Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

If I didn't buy online, I don't know where I'd get them. And I hate to pay full price when so many farms I respect are selling on eBay. Still can't believe all of the Greenfire eggs are making! Now just watching the cracks begin! I want more marans, and wouldn't mind more isbars or ccl's but part of me could do more polish or a run of orps or more silkies...

I want to go the eBay route too but I hate just buying blind. How do you know which sellers to buy from and which to avoid?

I mean, you really can't go wrong with Polish, lol.

I have a friend who has polish, Ive always wanted them, she said she would start collecting eggs for me but Id have to time it perfectly because Im traveling to take my daughter to look at colleges. So Im away 3/4-3/7 then again 3/19-3/24. So when could I set where I would be home to candle on day 7, 15 and then at lockdown day 18 and still be present for the hatch? Can't wrap my head around it.

I'm thinking a few paints, a dark blue, possibly a couple splash, and a couple siver partridge I think. There are so many Silkie colors that I'm never confident I'm calling them the right thing. Lol

I would just make sure you're home for hatch day and shimmy the candling days to suit your needs.

I agree... the humidity is a little fiddly. Mine hovers around 45% lately with channel a filled, but was 70%... maybe i overfilled channel a the time before? When i let it run dry it goes to 10% this time of year.

Still works well for me though and is a steal in its price range, I think!

Do not get me wrong. I love mine ! It just takes a little finagling but it works great for the price! Best I found under $600

Congrats on all the new hatches! My last little nugget went into the brooder. It’s astonishing how much they grow in just a week !! It finished its hatch yesterday was a good distraction. My aunt passed away yesterday after a tough battle with cancer.

I also have a little turd that started crowing at 1 week old! Igot a picture and a band on it. Luckily someone is buying some chicks tomorrow, and said they’d take him !View attachment 2031132

Lots of splash and maybe a black? so adorable. I had splash last spring but they were all boys. I have 3 partridge and one blue this year. Hoping for some girls.

Im not a medicine taker but Zofran saved my life this week. Not to be gross but one tiny pill melted under your tongue and you stop the nausea and the vomiting. Its a miracle drug.

Just 6 days to go till hatch day!

All 6 of the eggs have development but one is looking a bit slower then the others, possibly a quitter but can’t say for sure.

Just leaving them all in.
