Too harsh a punishment, or not??

There are more important issues to worry about than if a student has a piece of candy or not. Ridiculous.

Where is the sense of perspective?

So many schools have instituted "zero tolerance" policies on all sorts of crazy things...since when is the punishment for a Jolly Rancher the SAME as for bullying or bringing a gun to school? How are children supposed to learn the difference between right and wrong, if every wrong is punished on an adult scale?
