Too many cockerels.....

That RIR over Barred Rock is actually a Black Sexlink though, so at least not a random mixed breed. People that know about them and like eating chicken would snap them up as they usually make a decent eating bird (for a layer type). If you were local to me, I'd take them. Free, and don't have to feed them long? Good deal.

Thanks so much! Yes, we have a craigslist ad up, but no bites so far. We mentioned in the ad that they are not big enough for meat birds yet, so it's not an issue if someone wants to feed their family at some point. I saw 3 of them challenging each other this morning, lol. Probably should stop handling them now.
I'm in the same boat. We bought 4 baby bantam Cochins and it turns out that 3 are male. Two of those 3 are aggressive. We need to get rid of them, but not a lot of takers.

There's an auction house not too far from me....that may have to be the last resort. I just can't dispatch them, sorry. I'll get some flyers ready and have to post at the local feed/tack store and go from there.

Here in NC Fl.. free roosters are gone the same day of the add. Young cockerels go for $10 min/everyday. Our market is good.
I'm thinking the prices are good there because of the practice of Santeria that goes on in your area. Chickens are ritually sacrificed. Do goats sell well in your area also?

I am almost 60 yrs old.. been down here from Ohio since I was 12. All those yrs I have NEVER SEEN OR HEARD SUCH NONSENSE!
First I''m told Florida has been over run with feral chickens on this thread and now we are Devil worshipers?
Wow. The intelligence of this tread is offending me so I must click the unwatch button. Stereotyping is offensive and ignorant.
Sacrifices...

I sold 4 cockerels this morning to another Farmer who processes his own food.. V.S. buying steroid/hormone injected chicken from Walmart.

I should ask their religious beliefs before the rest of the birds I sell fall into the wrong hands..:lau:lau:lau:lau:lau:lau

Good luck to the Original Poster of this thread! I hope you can sift thru the Geographical Disillusions and gross misconception.

Sorry the conversation came to this, oh my gosh! I did a double take at first but....it seemed to have taken a turn which I have no control over, so sorry....
I enjoy going on BYC to get suggestions and there are some awesome folks here that have walked me through chicks hatching, brooding, etc since I am a first time chicken owner. So far, so good. The thread started as trying to see what other experience was for others trying to re home roosters. :) I am hoping to re-home my rooster chicks to someone, and from there its out of my hands.
