TOO many eggs - what to do?

This isn't my problem yet, but it maybe. I only have 15 chickens, BUT everytime I walk into the feed store
I start

over the baby chicks.

I think I am sick. I think I have caught the chicken BUG. It makes your mouth go dry and your pulse go up
at the thought of purchasing another chick.

I understand from fellow BYC members that there is really NO cure for the Chicken disease.

So, if my 15 chicks becomes 45 chicks - - - - what do you do with all those EGGS?

Do you ebay them? Do you sell them on a street corner? Do you give them away to your friends?

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH TOO MANY EGGS?

I sell them as eating and hatching eggs.

Give them to my kids' families

Feed them to my cats and dogs.

Hard boil & chop them up and feed them back to the hens.

We give ours to friends and family, though I am considering selling some as well. We also put them in the dog food as well.

I posted something on my facebook page to all my friends. Now I have an egg customer base and I sell around 13 dozen a week for $3/dozen. You would be amazed how many people love farm fresh eggs!!

Maybe you can donate some to you're local soup kitchen, just a thought...

There's at least 4 people in my church who'd buy my eggs for sure. And at least another half a dozen outside of my church who'd buy as well. I'm selling 2 dozen's to my former Spanish teacher this Wensday for $4.00.

Ahhh been down that road too many times..LOL...I got a cook book entitled 365 ways to cook eggs. I am a huge cook, and wine person so I am always having friends over for samplings of things I cook and pair it up with wine.
A.M. Quiche Lorraine, blue berry muffins, and Mimosas.....
Lunch, A chef salad with fresh chopped eggs over it and a glass of Rielsling
P.M. catfish with cajun rub on it,halapeno corn bread muffins, a vege, and Spanish Flan for dessert, with a nice sauv. blanc from New Zealand. Now this is on the weekends. Don't let anyone tell you eggs are bad, because I eat them every day of my life. I got my cholesterol checked yesterday at it was 89....YEAHHHH.

I don't have the problem with too many eggs yet- only 6 laying girls at this time - buuutttt I will have over 24 eggs in the bator next week -
I know people who will but the eggs some I will give away - once you have fresh farm eggs it's hard to go back to the pale tastless super market eggs

just kidding I wold eat them if I had to but my girls eggs are the best

10 egg pound cake.

I am not kidding.
IT IS SO GOOD! I even went off of the wheat free diet because of all of the raving. It was worth the agony.
There is also an egg bread in the BYC cook book that takes 9 or 10 eggs.
That is super too, but be sure to let it cook long enough, the egg wash will make it look done before it is. Thump it. Thump it good.
And if in doubt, egg salad.and... MAYO!
