We received our 10 poults on 4/26/12. One died and there are 8 gobblers and 1 hen. Where in the world can I get another hen or two?

We know we will be eating some of the gobblers, but would like to continue the breed and had planned on hatching eggs in the spring, but with only 1 hen we are not sure what to do.

Any suggestions. Can I find a place that will sex the poults and only send hens?

Our coop is such that there are two run sections to be able to separate as needed.

Thanks. After I posted this, that's what I did and may have found someone close with 2 hens that are less than 2 years old. My husband made the pen in 2 sections for separating purposes. Wonder how the 10 week olds would get along with the less than 2 year old hens. We are new at this.

If you have the separation I would keep them separate for about a week. Then you can try introducing them together at night and hope for the best the next day or do supervised introductions a few hours each day until you think they are comfortable.

I have my hens now where there are so many babies they don't really notice new introductions !
