too many males

That’s so sad. I went through the same thing. Out of 8 babies 5 were males. My girls were a wreck and had bald necks. I heartbreakingly gave away my 4 males. But it was amazing how much happier and friendlier my girls were. No more Tractor Supply ducklings for me, I can’t go through that heartache again. From now on I will only order them sexed from a hatchery. Good Luck ❤️

Pekins don't usually go broody (from what I hear). If she doesn't try to sleep there at night she isn't broody. It will be fine to take her away from the nest.
ok, thanks. i'll see if she is on the nest in the morning.

She'll lay because that is what they do. It may take her time to get use to her new place but she'll soon begin to lay again. If she had 1 egg in her nest that is all it means she doesn't have a duckling in the egg she has to brood on it to produce a duckling.

The main thing is if she continues to be raped by 4 drakes she'll either drown or die from sheer exhaustion and injury and stress.

Your decision on which way you go but something needs to be done ASAP.

I know it's a hard decision but we have to make them for the safety of our females. I have had to do as well as many others here.
another thing if she is sitting out on a nest over night she is prime target for any predator that smells her out She is literally a sitting duck
