I wouldn't use an antibiotic unless my chicks were sick -- using an antibiotic on healthy animals (humans too) is a sure way of reducing the effectiveness of an antibiotic when it is needed.
Doses of ACV in water varies as widely as there are people who use it -- I use 1/2 a tsp to a gallon of water -- some use as much as a Tsp to a gallon. I ere on the side of "just a little".
