Usually the chicks tuck themselves under her wings on the roost. This baby chick must think it is too warm outside to be roosting UNDER Mama Hen, haha.

To say that it's " too warm ", sounds so Unatural to me , it's not a common phrase
here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Lol

Oh, I forgot to mention that the Mama Hen is a black copper marans. The chick is an olive egger, her egg with a purebred Araucana as a father. The chick got massive ear tufts from its Dad!

Definitely seems odd! But that recent heat wave sure was awful, even all the way up the Keweenaw! Glad the temperatures are back to more normal!
