Too with swollen face eyes swollen shut

Tylan injectable worked for CRD for me, and quick
As Kat says they feel better usually the next day
I used a 22 ga. Needle
Tetracycline did not even touch it, maybe masked symptoms.
Tetracycline in the water will have to be made fresh everyday, or ineffective.
I would be treating the other birds with it maybe if they responded to it and depending on how many birds you have to treat.
OK so Tylan for him and the tetra/oxytetracycline in the water for the rest. There are over twenty birds in this coop.

Don't treat the others if they aren't sick. If they do get sick, treat with Tylan.

hi, do you remember the dosage? I have Tylan 200.

@casportpony I got the Tylan 200 and he weighs 5.06 lbs. What is the chicken does again?

If here were mine I would give 0.64 ml orally twice a day. Injections of Tylan can cause injection site necrosis, which happened one to me, so orally is the only way I will give it.

Oxytetracyline and tetracycline are pretty much the same. At this point I would try the tylan. If that doesn't work, I would use Baytril (enrofloxacin) instead of oxytetracycline or tetracycline. It's banned for use in poultry, so you have to think about that..

Actually, Oxytetracyline, soluable powder, is approved for use in poultry, including chickens, all stages (search for Tetroxy 25)

Drugs go in and out of approval of course, almost monthly it seems...so it is hard to keep up for the backyard owner, which makes this chart helpful too:

thanks. I gave him 1/2cc of Tylan 200 from what I read.
Can you help with tonight's problem? I came home to on of the 10 week old Sapphire pullets that has been sneezing for a week on her side. When I reached for her she tried to move off, but her left leg is not working.

If here were mine I would give 0.3 ml orally twice a day. Injections of Tylan can cause injection site necrosis, which happened one to me, so orally is the only way I will give it.

I got this too late. I will switch to orally for the next dose. Thanks.
Can you help with my next sick bird I came home to big issues with a Sapphire pullet.
