Top on my chicken yard or no?

A bobcat does not jump over a fence, it climbs over the fence. Wire or wood does not matter, it climbs.

A bobcat would not fall out of tree, it would climb down the trunk. But yes, if the trees are far enough apart so a bobcat cannot travel between them above ground level it should work.

That 1.5 x 4 fence wire should stop a bobcat from going through. It can still climb over it. And the PVC coating would probably insulate it so the fence would not act as a ground so you would need a ground wire as well as a hot wire for electricity to work.

Henitentiary? I love it! Will have to remember it so I can use it in the future. LOL Good luck on the project by the way. Hope it solves your cat problem.

I do love living in the mountains but I've had a few too many National Geographic moments this year. Does the height of the fence really matter between 5' and 6'? Maybe I need a large dog....

I would think the height only matters if you want to be able to walk around in the area comfortably.

Okay, we've pretty much determined the size of the yard. The perimeter fencing will be about 300 ft. That's too large to do a hard top so it will either have to be netting or a wire around the top. There will be some trees within the yard but not too many. If I do a wire, should I offset it or line it up directly over the fence edge?
