Top soil in run?

Thanks for the pics.
I see a little redness around the scab but no swelling. It doesnt look too bad at all unless she is limping. When there is redness and swelling, that's when I do surgery.
If the little bit of redness disappears, dont do surgery. The scab will eventually go away on its own. I would just monitor her foot daily and keep an eye on it.

Use sandpaper to lightly sand roosts to remove burrs and splinters. Also consider lowering roosts. I've lowered mine down to 6 inches above the sand in all my coops. I havnt had to do any bumblefoot surgeries in a long time.

Her poop looks almost the same as one of my EE's. I started my EE hen on Baytril earlier this evening for what I suspect is an ecoli infection. I have SMZ-TMP as well for ecoli and staph infections, but the Baytril should knock back the infection in short order.

Our roosts are painted and pretty smooth.

The Baytril is liquid and given orally. Bumblefoot is a staph infection and yes, it should treat the bumblefoot infection. However, minor surgery is preferred to remove the infection and your hen doesnt need the surgery right now.

At what point is surgery needed? Is it just removing the black center? She was limping, but isn't anymore now that it is bandaged.

S still no egg but I don't feel anything solid below her vent. It feels slightly like a water balloon. Is this water belly? She's acting otherwise normal.
