Topic of the Week - Christmas in the Coop

It's Christmas time, so just for fun, this week I'd like to see and hear how you all celebrate Christmas with your fowl? Do you decorate the coop? Give the birds a little Christmas treat? Take pics with your birds for your own Christmas cards?

I'm gonna give my chickens a gift: crickets. Five for each of them. I only have two chickens.

What a fun topic! My birds will get a treat of Christmas lunch tomorrow. They love cooked veggies especially if they are warm.

My mum thought I had actually dressed them up when I sent her the pic

They're already spoiled so won't be getting presents as such tomorrow but I'm sure they'll end up with some bits of turkey and leftover veg

My chickens have a whole side of our christmas card! I wanted to make them little stocking filled with scratch and bird seed but i couldn’t get to it. But they will be getting plenty of scraps!

Clients for my job that know me pretty well always ask me if I'm putting mine in tiny ugly Christmas sweaters for the holiday..with a snicker.

There's pretty much just poop in the coop for Christmas this year. But I'm looking forward to making wreaths and decorating for the next one.

Meanwhile, here's a Christmas wreath my husband made a few years ago, from things he found with his metal detector. It's hard to see, but there are little metal toy cars and a gas station pump tucked here and there.

And the bow is handmade from solid copper, found at a thrift shop.

I made the girls and gentlemen a treat tree! They absolutely love it! I feel crazy for doing it but hey if it makes them happy and it’s the time to give when they already give me so much!
