Topic of the Week - What do you do with all those eggs?

I'm like most people I either sell, give away or eat extra eggs and then if I still have too many I take whatever dozen of eggs that I have to the auction and sell them there.

I would love to be able to bake but right now there is spring cleaning going on both inside and outside. With Birch Sap in the process of being made into syrup in the house.

I never heard of birch sap syrup. does it taste like maple syrup?
to get back on topic ,I feed the extras to my dog or give them to the neighbors.
Best,
Karen

To get off topic- no, Birch sap syrup doesn't taste anything like Maple syrup. Birch syrup has more of a earthy, molasses taste. The other night I cooked pork chops using the birch syrup as a glaze and oh, boy they were sure finger licking good then had some on vanilla bean ice cream. Yum, yum. I currently don't have any dogs so I can't feed the extra eggs to it. I have heard that if you rub an egg into a cat's fur it will give it more a shine. To be honest, I've never tried it so I don't know if that's true or not.

We eat most of our eggs, if we have to many for us to handle we may sell or give them away to friends.

Yes, I scramble a dozen and put them in a Ziploc and into the deep freeze. When ready to use, I thaw them add a couple slices of cheese and cook them up like normal. They also work great for camping. **disclaimer they look terrible coming out of the bag but I promise they taste good. Family can't tell the difference.**
