Tornadoes everywhere!

Just checking in on my fellow Tennesseans and Mississippians. Our town got hit pretty bad, thankfully we are in the county away from the main damage. Trees are down all over. A tornado touched down in town. Reports of one house flattened on the back side of town and a trailer flipped. No word on the inhabitants of the house but the guy in the trailer is safe. I haven't heard anything about North East Mississippi. I'll likely be off and on as my internet is satellite internet and it keeps getting knocked out. Praying for everyone to be as safe as possible. Hope everyone is good!!!!

After living im Memphis, TN my whole life, I became absolutely terrified of tornados. Every spring and fall, the storms, the sirens, hiding in the hallway. Now that we live in the mountains of NC, it is a rarity. I have been so relaxed. My heart goes out to all those effected by these terrifying storms. Prayers for all.

There was a funnel cloud a few miles from us- but luckily it was in a really hilly area and never did any damage. It's just the rain! Some places in TN had over 10 inches (I heard 13 in one place!) I lost all of my corn in last year's torrential rains, so I didn't risk it this year. I think I lost a few cukes- but that's no big deal.

I can't believe it- but my chickens are out walking around in this muck.

I am ready to move

I hate May for this reason. 2 years ago one hit a mile from my house and tore a path all the way to the next town. I hate tornadoes! It sounds like the north end of our county is devastated. I keep getting reports from the local fire dept. and city workers that they keep finding more damage as they clear the roads of trees and debris. No reports of lives lost though, so that's good!
