There are hen rescue people over here, when the farmers are changing there layers they call these people to collect the hens and rehome them, I didn't get them this way, a friend of mine had 5 girls and the council told him he had to get rid of them, because someone complained, my girls free range in an area 44ft by 22ft and the palace is 5ft by 6ft, I use sand and straw in palace, the free range are is a mix of dirt and gravel, they have plenty of space and dust baths, I feed them growers pellets and they have access to oyster shell 24/7 I put
Acv in there water, I treat for lice and worms every 6 week's, what am I doing wrong??? Should I get rid of the rest of my ex batts and just keep my chicks???

No i would not get rid of them, egg bound can affect any hen,it is not exclusively to ex battery hens. Have you tried the KY jelly applied to her vent to help pass the egg(as mentioned in article per link i sent)?

I have seen documentaries and read several articles regarding the ex battery hen rescue in the UK, it is fantastic what you are doing, keep doing it,you are giving these gals a chance for a happy life(regardless of how much time they have)sunshine, free range, healthy food, chicken paradise.

I ended up with chickens by accident, I never expecting to love them so mmuch, they all have there own personalities and I love spending time with them, it just really gets me down that I have already lost 2 pullets and now have another sick one, I've only had them since February :-( , I have applied Vaseline to her vent after her bath as I didn't habe any ky, I'm gona try and get calcium tablets and try that, and tomoz I will try a bath again

I know how you feel,i love all my girls/boys,it is amazing how these little creatures sneak into your heart, and stay there forever. Best wishes for your girls, keep us posted on updates.

I have one experience with egg bound.
I did what you have tried plus the olive oil massage.
But I took her to the vet and he could not feel the egg externally.

He gloved up and used KY Jelly, and probed and that egg was very high up into her vent and beyond.

He did get it down. ! But it took awhile ..

Do you have a vet around ?

No vets by me know anything about it, my vets only help was that if I needed her putting down he would do it, I will give updates

she looks so sorry for herself,

Can you try with the KY Jelly and surgical glove, so you can really feel carefully.

I gave my girl a calcium pill that I put in the blender with a little water and I used a syringe to drop the mix on in her beak.

Poor girl. She has to pull thru. Don't give up.

The calcium pill I have is 500 mg, but you could use a lower dose, just so she gets some of it.
I keep at her with the syringe for about an hour. Every five minutes. I keep giving it to her. If you have electrolytes use also. Or honey and a little salt. And mix that with the calcium pill powder.

Ok so I'm very surprised buy Sarah is still with us, I have crushed up a calcium pill and syringe fed it to her, so fingers crossed this works
