Generally, they are pretty quiet, but they do have their times when the male gets loud, mainly when other animals get too close to his lady. Or if a strange vehicle pulls in the driveway, he'll definitely let us know.

That's what I needed to know! I have told my DH that I want a pair of toulouse for the barnyard. I think they are so beautiful and graceful.

Well, my mom presented me with a gift of 2 geese, both chinese. I am working on finding a new home for them, and I am hoping to order a pair of toulouse next spring.

Is there anything I should know about them before I get some? Like do they have any quirky behaviors, special care needs, or would it be like having my ducks and the current geese now?

If you have chinese, I think you would find the toulouse a bit mellower than them, and otherwise, I think they would be fine with your ducks. I'm no expert on geese, but mine have been really good about not wandering too far, and always come back to the barn at night. They don't seem to mind my dogs and cats as long as they stay about 20 ft away. The neatest thing was when one of my Muscovies hatched 9 babies, the gander was so gentle with them, and would herd them back to their mom if they got too far from her. At first, I was scared he would hurt them, but he never even touched a single one. Good luck !
