Toulouse Geese Thread

I got one of my geese to adopt goslings by putting them in a pen with her during the day. (25ºC) The first day she was curious, I brought them in that night. The second day she was more interested, I brought them in again. Like this for less than a week, then one evening I went to get them in, and she was brooding them.
Ducklings are just the same in that they need heat at first. Hope it goes well.

I looked it up, thanks for the info! Very cool! I'll have to give them some time together this weekend, watch and see what happens. I'll be outside most of the day working - those geese sure do like to make a mess - so I can keep a good eye and give them lots of time! I'd like to take one of the ducklings in as a house duck though. I miss having Trina inside with me! I need something else with feathers to snuggle now that Trinas moved on to be with her mate.

Rather you than me! Ducks make so much mess! Funny though!
How many ducklings do you have? Can´t you choose 2 to be house ducks so they´re company for each other?

LOL this is my first time around with ducks too! But Trina didn't make too much of a mess so I can't imagine something similar but smaller could be much worse. Then again maybe I'm in for a surprise! LOL
I would keep two inside, BUT that means TWO diapers to change, and TWO to keep track of and bring with me everywhere. As adorable as that would be, I don't want to bite off more than I can chew haha. Then again... I've only got 3 hatching today all saxony... but 3 more ancona eggs to go and I think the saxony's just hatched early. Anyway, I might keep one ancona and one saxony inside for the fun different colors. Do you know, can they be vent sexed at a day old?

I have no idea about vent-sexing ducks, I never worry about their sex until they´re older, so maybe ask on the duck forum?
Haha, I think you´re a glutton for punishment!

Try posting a pic. But I'm sure you could show it it just would be under the class of goose it should show in and if production Toulouse it will not get dewlaps, but pic can tell us what you have.
