I expect Missy will get lobes as she continues to fill out.

Lydia, love the pictures! Do share more when you can.

aoxa the girls are lovely, bet you cant wait to hear on that gander. what kind of head aches do you have getting him back across the boarder?

we finished cleaning stalls and rebedding and shuffling birds around today. Sold off all of our africans yesterday and that opened a stall up for the three adult dewlaps coming in the week of the 15th. By the end of October we will have two more empty stalls too since all the muscovy (minus 2) will be heading to freezer.

Thank you Celtic - I am getting very anxious :fl - He is worrying about the border, so that's a relief. :)

I'd like to raise a few muscovies for meat. I've heard they are really tasty!

Hi Aoxa, your new Buff Dewlaps are very nice and the one in the second picture is looking full of promise at only 13 weeks. Really lovely and Im sure you're very proud

Here's a new pic of my production toulouse, Chicory, with my favorite grey dewlap gander, Tank. Hard to believe Chicory turned 6 months old this week and Tank will be 5 months old next week. Time flies.

That means a lot Pete! They are actually 21 weeks today, but have slowed down greatly in development. I do notice their keel growing though :fl

Thats no problem. You'll have to post some updated pics as they grow. Buffs always seem to take a long time to develop their size and type. It makes it interesting watching the changes but they will look even more mature this time next year

When should I expect them to start mating with the new gander and laying eggs? They were born May 15th 2012.
