He said the same thing as you Celtic.

Watch behaviour and intervene by separating into pairs if needed :)

I'll be keeping more girls from this years goslings. That way they can each have 2 girls.

Nice you have a breeder so close to you who can share advice on your location as well as general knowledge. I cant imagine living where it gets that cold.

I have no idea when your breeding season would start, are you serious about no spring until April?

Sadly yes.

This is our yard late April.

Early June... just starting to bud.

Grass mowed for first time. lol

oh man thats uummm too cold for me lol. by June we are mowing three times a week the spaces geese arent on
When do you have issues with drought? Or is it not an issue in Florida?

We have so much rain after June that we have to mow the whole yard twice a week.. and I have birds grazing on that.. I'd have to mow more if I didn't.

yeah we are very lucky, but still get the super high hay prices ($26/a 70lb square of Timothy Orchard) and higher grain prices (although our feed store kept the prices as low as he could through the increases)

I'm thinking of picking up a little boy toulouse this year to live with my two embden geese. Will this trio work? Will the embdens be too energetic for him? I'm not looking to breed anything, the eggs will be collected daily, just thought it might be nice to have a boy. Sorry for the basic questions, we haven't had any boys before, except for my gelding but he is really, really girly.

Does the heat affect the way these crops grow?

Our hay prices are $2 for a 2x4 foot bale of organic Timothy hay. We have a family friend who grows it. Our chicken feed prices are very high though. Ranging from $15-$20 for a 50 pound bag.
