Chick starters medicated with amprollium for coccidiosis can be toxic to goslings and ducklings. Only purchase starter free of medications for coccidiosis. Hope this answers your question. Tractor Supply has Dumor brand that is made by Purina that does not contain such medications. Hope this helps.

I have a question...i have a pair of production grey toulouse that are 10 mos old. Im pretty sure i have one of each even though i havent gotten any eggs from the goose(Tori). However the last few days i have noticed that
Tori's flap of skin between her legs(i do not know the term) has gotten bigger and closer to the ground. Does this mean she is getting ready to start laying? Her attitude lately too has been very witchy. Also at what age do they normally get that skin flap/egg flap??

I am a first time goose owner - but I already adore and love my two little Toulouse goslings. They are sooooooooooooo cute and funny. They are sharing the "living room" with two Ancona ducklings. They are the best of buddies. Posted a video of them playing earlier. Can't wait to see what they will grow into.

I am amazed. She is 1 yr old this month, so your probably in the ball park and Missy is tempermental too, hormones do that to us ladies.

and her lobes sound normal, you just don't want them getting over weight which can cause egg laying problems. Lots of grazing, exercise and very lttle treats should keep her in tip top shape.

Adorable, wish I could
l have gotten my Toulouse as a baby, she was 4 months old when I got her, Missed the cuteness of goslings.

Thank you Miss Lydia! I hatched Tori and her mate Tucker last summer. They wont be a year old until June. Even though i bought new geese this year that are already laying, i cant wait until my babies start laying their eggs. They are like kids to me. I am new to geese and learning by watching the new ones, but Tori and Tucker just keep me guessing with their actions so much to the point i second guess them being named correctly or even being one of each lol. Anyways they are in good shape, treats are minimum, and they get exercise and have a kiddie pool (pond getting built soon) and when they cant graze i pick grass for them. I just didnt know why i havent gotten any eggs yet lol when i have others the same age just laying away but those are different breeds and i know all are different just like people.
