Toulouse Geese Thread

Thanks for the info on sexing them. I'll look up Metzer's - not real sure I want to vent sex them at this size! They are HUGE it seems.

Hello, i have a couple toulouse of my own so I have decided to join your thread, I am looking forward to all the advice you guys have to offer.
Happy to have you! My Toulouse missy is sitting on 9 eggs at the moment hoping we get a few goslings out of it.

I picked Zoe, Dora and Ariel up and carried them out of their comfort zone (deck and fenced garden) across the yard to the waterfowl pool I had built. No ducks or ganders were in it, so I thought this would be fun. They plopped into the water and started to paddle about as they took stock of the situation. Caleb, one of my two Toulouse ganders, who has been playing Daddy to four Cayuga ducklings took exception to "strangers" in his pond. I thought he was being hissy at me, but no, he herded those three goslings (who are now close to half his size) into a corner of the pond and honked them into jumping out. Then he chased them, wings outspread. I managed to capture two of the three girls whilst I chided Caleb for being so inhospitable to them. I carried Zoe and Ariel, encouraging Dora to follow us. We were escorted by Caleb and Sarge, my MW Tom Turkey escorted Caleb (there is enmity between them). I wonder if Abgus would have been as prickly about the situation; he has been hanging around and peeking through the garden fence and deck railing at them. However, when I gathered up the girls to take them to the pond, Angus was off in the meadow foraging. Or just patrolling, who knows. :D Every time I think I should fire up the computer so I can upload photos, I realize the goslings change DAILY and they don't look like their photos taken just a few days ago. Maybe I will just put 'em up anyway - I don't think anybody here would object to any Toulouse geese pictures. ;)

Man I love hearing everyone's goose stories! I can't wait to have a whole flock of my own!

I posted in it's own thread, butthought I would ask you guys as well - Trina has been having some trouble with regurgitation. She seems to be regurgitating her food and water pretty much all the time now. At first, if I picked her up right after she had been eating or drinking she might have a little burst come out that I attributed to having a full crop and me probably just putting pressure on it by accident. In the last week or so it has been getting worse, and now she is regurgitating food and water pretty much every time she goes to eat or drink. she basically just pukes it up as she walks around and makes her little baby noises. She is JUST starting to honk too, but I assume that is just from aging up.
Is this normal?? Is there something I can do? Or do I need to get her in to a vet?

I want to see them, Missy was already 4 months old when I got her so seeing pics of what she looked like growing from gosling would be nice. Since Abgus has already seen them through the fence he might not look at them as intruders. You need to let those girls meet everyone so they will be accepted into the fold so to speak, Your being an over protective mama.
