One still alive? Good. when do you think it should hatch? Is it close? I know it´s hard to tell by the day she started sitting, as it´s a bit cloudy, eh? But the egg...what would you say by looking at the egg? Hopefully she´ll sit until it hatches.Well serv we're down to 1 egg still living so I am trying not to get too hopeful but it's hard not to, I candled again and see lots of movement. I'm addicted to that egg.

I'm pretty sure she is in it for the long haul but as far as when just guessing maybe week after next. it's pretty full but I can still see movement. I'm going to show dh tomorrow since he's been out of town and hasn't gotten to see it yet. The other one I took out today after candling real good and I opened it up it was just yolk so I buried it in the compost Gosh i hope we get at least 1 gosling. Poor Sam he has been lost with Missy sitting and now she has to have her door completely closed because of the BLK snakes we had a 5footer around here yesterday, so I don't want to take any chances, he had visiting hours a few times today though.
How ganders love their babies, though! I do hope the egg hatches for you. Interesting that you can see movement, so it must be pretty well along, then. How big is the air cell? air cell is still at the top does that give you an idea of how far along? Oh my gosh Sam is going to be over the moon with a gosling of his own. He adored the ducklings. One of my ganders prefers to be with his 'babies' rather than the goose! And the babies are 7 months old!! I´ve separated the goose from him,( and she´s quite happy with her sisters) as I´d like him to breed with a different goose this year, so trying to weaken the bond, but it doesn´t actually seem to be as strong as his bond with his offspring. (different to my other gander, who adores his goose) Funny geese.
Well at day ten it´s like a straight line across the top, under half-an-inch down, so it could be at this stage, or, by day 18, it´s more like an inch from the top, and getting bowed, almost at the place where you´d take the top off the boiled egg to eat it. If this is where yours is at, you may be right about the week after next. You say you see movement. Do you mean just within the egg, or with the membrane? Oh, I do hope this one is successful for you.
