Toulouse Geese Thread

Toulouse need toys it help them keep busy I find a Kong toy fairly big stuffed with flock raiser and sprouted Multigrain bread like Ezekiel bread keeps mine busy for like 3 hours and believe me they get into it it's quite the spectacle also I have a 12 ft shallow pool in the ground for mine although they don't require water I just think it's mean if they can't swim I mean they have flippers for a reason lol
Mine love to chew on things so I have to be careful what is out in their area. actually they chewed the side of our storage building where we keep shovels etc. it's wood they love wood. So I had to wrap it in plastic poultry fencing silly things. They also chewed one of my Forsythia bushes up and killed it so any thing I want to keep alive trees[bushes] has to be fenced off. Mine love their pools too. I have a large gong I'll have to get some Ezekiel bread and try them on it.

Biodegradable dog tug of war toys you know the ones with the tennis ball on the end hang them up they bounce them I find they love red black green and blue colors and those toys are pretty good about breaking down if they eat the string has to be biodegradable string though

I.e not made in China petco by me has a pretty good selection but like I said it most definitely needs to be biodegradable rope
I'd be very scary of any kind of rope may take too long to break down inside before it was too late. Once Missy got hold of some netting that accidentlly fell on the ground I just happened to see some of it sticking out of her mouth and was able to pull the rest out before she swallowed it. That is the closest I want to come to them eating anything not edible. I don't know about any one else but when it rain here things wash up that have probably been in the ground for longer than we've been here. That's pretty scary too. Metal always a worry.

How is action jackson doing?

I have 6 toulouse goslings and I can tell they get board easily any ideas to keep them busy? Must they be dog toys because my dog could get jealous and steal all the toys!

I just made this video about how to keep my hair from getting chewed off, but this might apply to bored goslings as well. Hope it helps!

Get some romaine lettuce and hang in their brooder they will shred it and eat it and not only gives them something to do but is also good for them, I'd buy organic or wash it real good before hanging. make sure to offer them grit also.

It sure seems that way, but the toy came highly recommended from a website called HouseGoose. The site said the toy is safe and it keeps their goose entertained for hours. I inspect the toy several times a day to see if she is ripping the hairs off. Everything is intact. The way she goes after it, I'm impressed at how durable it is. Believe me, if she even gets one off, the toy is gone. I tried the lettuce idea, but she has no interest. She also won't eat weeds, only tender grass. Go figure!
