Aoxa - they're all looing great and I reckon Winston is about 5 weeks younger thanthe females. You may see dramatic changes over the next 3 months. Of the 3 I think Rosa is the pick of the bunch at this age. Nice overall shape, good depth of body, and impressive and well shaped keel with a good head. She's showing a whole lot of promise

Sometimes there's a slight increase in sex hormones at this time of the year. Hopwfully you'll find that actual breeding behaviour with egg laying will be delayed until late Winter. Those youngsters need to put their reserves into growth and development at this age.

This afternoon i went out to do chores and saw Missy my goose running around with something hanging out of her bill, well it took me a few minutes to catch her and when i did i ended up pulling about 12 inches of blue plastic thread out of her throat. I had hung a blue tarp up at the wood shed to block the wind and give the flock another place to get out of the cold not realizing Missy would try to unravel the hem at the bottom. Thank the Lord I found her when I did and i was able to pull it out. Needless to say the bottom of the tarp is now weighted down with fire wood so she can't get to the thread. she is like a little child getting into all sorts of stuff. I never even thought she would do this.

Around here I tend to say geese are like 3 year olds and ducks are like 2 year olds. I'm glad you got it way from her before she got injured.
