Township trying to take 10-year old girl's pets away -- support needed ASAP

College Township voted back in 2014 if up to four hens would be allowed on single dwelling property. It was voted down.

It's incredible that an entire article written about the unfairness of removing restricted livestock never quoted the towns ordinance. This can only lead one to conclude that indeed poultry are not allowed and if investigated proves that to be true. To say a council woman misspoke about regulations and believed poultry were pets only confirms ignorance of an existing ordinance and lack of general knowledge that livestock are not pets. It does not negate the ordinance.

This is old but hopefully we can help

It's old enough that things have changed since that first post.

As of a meeting on January 4, 2021 the township council is working on a new ordinance to permit up to 4 backyard chickens.

How I found that information:
https://collegetwppa.documents-on-demand.com/
Official documents for College Park, PA
I typed "chicken" in the search box and got a list of results. The most recent one was the agenda for the meeting.

No it was at new posts

Its hard to find a place where you can raise chickens anymore unless you own several acres of land .The city will restrict you to only a few and many require permission from your neighbors.God forbid if one of them doesn't like chickens (or you) Anyone who likes raising chickens is better off living in the county.
