Putia waited where Marco had told her to. She didn't know why the other dogs were leaving, but she wouldn't leave Marco behind.

Putia whimpered. Marco's scent trail was still present, she knew that much. She stood up, shook the cold, pure snow off of herself and began to follow his trail. She knew Marco would be mad, she knew he'd probably get hurt again because of her, but this time she really did want to make sure he was safe.
She plodded along, sniffing the scent. The silence made her nervous, scared and it constantly stole her attention. The dark forest shrouded her view, hiding flora and fauna of many different shapes and sizes. She felt like she was always being watched, even though the forest seemed somewhat empty. Her head was a mess, confused and scared, she began to think up dozens of possibilities. She only succeeded in scaring herself further.

Death watched her from a distance. He licked his lips and drool pooled forth. He sniffed the ground, picking up Marcos scent. He smirked.
