Tractor Supply Chick Days 2018

the one closest to me had their Rhodes for 50 cents last week. They were two to three week old birds. Something about older birds versus the day old birds. The older birds dont sell very good. Do not know what the big deal is, even if you buy them at two days old they will soon be two weeks old...

I am hoping that this happens close to me with Australorps ;)

We like to clearance out “older” chicks because we get escapees after a while. They usually get to this age because they haven’t sold well in general, although some experienced customers understand they’re essentially getting started pullets or meat birds.

The guy at the local store didnt even know the dif between pullets and straight run. We had to sex all the bird I bought, they were all mixed together.

Wow, that’s pretty bad. My best advice would be to go on a week day in the morning hours or early afternoon, this is most likely when the store’s receiver is there. They of all employees should know what they checked into the store. Although I’ve heard a few locations in WV and probably other states are having issues with the hatcheries and/or corporate. Personally I think it’s highly likely that they’re not reading the inside walls of the boxes. I’ve had to point out what the initials mean. BO, BA, BR, WR, RIR, EE, etc.

TSC here in MI had all the birds for under a dollar each yesterday...ducks were 99 cents...Cornish x we're 49 cents...red and black sex links...bantams... minimum purchase of 6 chicks.
