Tractor Supply Co. Chicken Coop Reviews Thoughts Feedback - Why and Why Not ?

I bought one that was listed in the link, the superior construction one. Been staining and assembling it in the garage while the chicks are in a brooder. It seems sturdy, plan to attach it to 4x6 pressure treated timber with a hardware cloth apron. I also want to make a larger run for the whole thing, for added protection and more room to forage. The quality seems good, but I do plan on reinforcing the nesting box floor. The hardware is not great, already bought hasp locks with carabiners to make sure the chickens are safe

Just remember when you buy that not all welded wires are created equal. I've found the one ones from home depot to have a lot of broken or missed welds on the wires. I got 200'x48" of the 1/2" for I want to say $140 last year. Good quality on that one. The 2"x4" welded wire I always buy from tractor supply.

You'll probably want to make a fence stretcher too, so the fence is nice and taught.
Good reminder! I just bought this yesterday and am thinking I gotta make sure I don't have flimsy / wobbly wire!

What kind of fence stretcher would be good to make?

I was basically just going to do something like this:

I was basically just going to do something like this:
Won't work great for HC, it does stretch like chicken wire does.
I have used the screw point, or a small flat screw driver, to very carefully(so you don't break the welds) stretch the HC.
Pull/pry, and fasten, at second square from edge.

ETA: @Nifty-Chicken please tell me you're not using chicken wire!

I mean't coming out by themselves, I can still pry these out if I really have to. Back side of the fencing pliers is pretty useful lol
