Tractor Supply Co Sexing - Accurate?

Most stores like tractor order straight run but the occasional "all pullets bin"
We were at our new Rural King store earlier. They did not have signs stating straight run or pullets either.
We asked an employee and he said he didn't know but he could find out. He never came back..

I can only assume they were straight run if not posted as pullets..

Dang, straight run Australorp's for $2.39? Mine were sexed as pullets and only $2.99. Who knows if they are really all pullets, but still. lol And they really should be labeling it.

Also, sorry to ask this here instead of another thread - do 4 day old chicks sleep constantly? Or are they very active? The chicks I got from TSC last time were a week or two old.. I'm not sure how to tell if these are doing well or not. They're currently sleeping.
As long as they are eating and drinking they should be fine.

As an update to this post, I'd like to add in one reply: they did not get the breed on 5 (supposed Sicilian Buttercup's, but they're not - still a mystery) of them correct, and the 5 Australorp's, I'm beginning to suspect at least 2 little Roo's. :hit:hit:hit They were all sexed as pullets, including the 5 mystery breed! I don't know if I have the heart to get rid of them, but that'd be 5 Roo's and only 19 Hen's total (and 5 female ducks). I don't think I'm ever buying chicks from TSC again. :he

If you post pictures of your suspected cockerels and mystery chicks we may be able to help.

Alrighty, I'll take some first thing in the morning. :) I'm currently about to head out, and it'll be dark when I get home. I have some old pictures of one of the mystery chicks I can post here - they've gotten a few more feathers in and a bit bigger now.

it might just be your local TSC ours is great but we tend to get mostly cockerels from straight run bins.

Definitely something red, but not sex links. I still would guess production reds, RIR or maybe New Hampshires.

They look just like my golden Cuckoo Maran chicks. Although by buff Brahmas also look like this.
