Tractor Supply Ducklings

I cannot go to my closest TSC during chick days Because the ducklings are so neglected. You see hurt ones and want to take them all home and make them better. You even see chicks and want to take them home for the same reason. And I DONT like chickens. I have never seen a problem at the other 4 stores within 40 miles of me. That being said, our flock came from a TSC to our south and we could not be happier with them.

It’s sad to hear about the animal cruelty and neglect. I’m glad I rarely go to tractor supply but if I have to I don’t go near the bins so I don’t feel like I have to rescue them. We are fortunate because I have a locally owned farm and garden store that sells chicks almost year round and they are very well taken care of. Honestly it makes me want to stop shopping at TSC at all...

As an observer reading posts from people who purchased their ducks from TSC, many seem to end up with way more drakes than hens. I suspect that TSC suppliers fill their requests for sexed ducklings first and then send those that remain to the feed stores resulting in more boys than girls for sale. I purchased my first two ducks from a feed store (Stockdales) but I checked who the supplier was first and checked online to find that they only sold free-run unsexed ducklings. I figured that increased my odds of getting at least one girl. I ended up with one boy and one girl. Just a thought.
