Tractor Supply federal tracking!?

I was wondering why they'd make me sign a little slip with my name and contact info. They didn't say anything except "please fill this out". Nothing ever said anything about a limit, but I did get six (even though my dad told me to get 5

), so I guess they had no reason to tell me of any kind of limit.

I noticed at TSC they asked for my DL at the checkout and copied down my address. They asked for phone number too, but so does Petco and Kroger and lots of other places. They didn't even verify the info from the DL though. DH still has our old addy on his DL so if he was there they would have gotten it wrong

. The city makes you register your dogs so I figured who cares? There's no laws against chickens here in my city, although there is a 6 chick minimum purchase law.

I like Cyns way of thinking on this.

The local TSC stores in and around the Mid-Hudson Valley seems to have been "forced" by customers to not have to fill out forms anymore. This was a big discussion on another group I am apart of it definitely seems like it's big brother trying to get his hands in on something else to keep control over people.

Was in TSC today. My DH asked if they were taking personal information. Woman said yes. He asked why. She did it--said it was mandated by the state. My DH told her that was a lie, that it is not state law or other places besides TSC would be doing it. She wanted to argue with him, naturally.
I wouldnt buy a chick at TSC anyway because those idiots let people handle the chicks. No way I'm taking one of those home to my flock.

Folks, here's what you do. My DH just called TSC Corporate Customer Service at the 1-877-872-7721 ext. 1 and asked for an explanation. He was told that the state recommended they take personal information "in case something happens to the chicks", which I seriously doubt, but is a far cry from "required by the state". If you want a company to collect your private information, then don't complain, but if this bothers you, and it should, call TSC and tell them, as we just did, that you will no longer do business with TSC, period.

so much to say. i feel your pain. i went to the local ts here in crockett, tx i didn't get the 3rd degree. the chicks they had were cooking under a heat lamp in wet filthy shavings(it had rained a few days earlier and ts keeps their shavings in the outdoors). anyways i did raise a stink and the manager sold me the lot for half off but i've had 1 die. anyways i wont buy anymore birds from their. as for the feed i am not impressed with any of their feed. i have beefmaster cattle and i bought their range cubes once. it was poor quality feed. bluebonnet brand. it was grayish green lot of filler. ill never do it again. i've stuck with bryant and lone star for years and will continue to do so. all natural no garbage . oh and both are made right here in texas

I went to my TSC in PA and they have a sign saying it's a state law to get min of 6. Of course they also told me a "Straight run" was the breed of chicken!!!
