Traded one of my roos for a pitiful looking frizzle hen!

Wow yea i don't think dogs can catch mites from chickens can they? I know hedgehogs can because I accidently brought some in the house and somehow the hedgehog managed to get them now i can't figure out a safe way to get rid or em on a hedgehog because they are allergic to alot of stuff and have sensitive skin.

A lot of people think that shelters will kill the animals in seizures of that extent, but thats not always the case, if you feel the animals are in an abusive state please please call your ASPCA or whatever is in your town that can help. Even if some of the animals do have to be put down its more then likely for their own good, its better then suffering with that man. I have actually considered reporting the people we got our chicks from, because I've seen dead ones in cages. There is no reason why an adult chicken should be laying dead and alone in a cage thats up off the ground. Though I have no idea of how or why some of his birds may have died, for all I know he could have recent acquired the bird and it died from the lack of care someone else gave to it. The guy seems nice enough and we may need to trade in some of our chicks for hens when they get older if they turn out to be roosters. Keep up the good work on your hen, and make sure you constantly tell her how beautiful she is! I believe birds have feelings, even chickens, my little baby chicks love it when I talk to them even those who are afraid of my hand getting too close to them. She will probably be overly sensitive to heat, cold and all other elements like UVA/UVB rays and even mosquitoes at night. I hope you are taking the proper precautions to protect her from all of those things as well. All creatures great and small deserve proper TLC.

I'm so glad that she has improved this much in only one week! Hopefully she will continue to improve at that rate.

I may can spare $10 on something extra for her. I'm already planning on getting some oyster shell. Anything in particular I shoud get (not laying pellets!!!)?
