I took some pictures of three of my Trader joes\Whole foods pullets today. It was hot and they were dust bathing!

I went to a custom meat shop that sells eggs from a local farm. bought a dozen and gave 7 to my hens. they were tan and one brown.

They smelled like the butcher shop though, I hope that won't be a problem.

Sad to find my Trader Joe's hen TeJae dead on the coop floor this morning. I cannot tell what the cause of death was. She ate and drank and laid yesterday (3.85 oz egg) and tucked into the coop at dusk. During her 17.5 month laying career she churned out 477 eggs, most of them X-Large or Jumbo. She will be missed.

I am so sorry!

Ron is it possible to get barred rocks from trader joe eggs
Their eggs are white so they would have to use barred rock roosters. From what I can tell, at least in our area, they use commercial brown leghorns roosters and white leghorn hens.

It might be different in other parts of the country though.
