Yes, for this hatch. I have gone down to 98 before but usually 99.5 works fine.temp back up to 99.5?or kept cooler?
I use the cool down cycle from day 8 to 18.

Can't wait to see! Have you found Vital Farms in a store near you? We will set ours Saturday so hopefully we will have some feedback for you before do yours.Great thanks! I will be trying to hatch some shipped eggs and grocery store eggs at the same time. Hopefully early in the next week. Gotta find a store that has fresher eggs than 20 days. Those Vital Farms may do the trick. Hopefully we get a result from the candling soon
What about those of us with the Hovabator and no cool down? Are we missing out on an important, or at least advantageous step?Yes, for this hatch. I have gone down to 98 before but usually 99.5 works fine.

Take a look at a couple posts of mine... I cracked some a few days ago. They even have a non GMO product at Whole Foods only. I'll see if I haven't erased a pic... I cleared my phone the other day.I have noticed the Vital Farms boxes. They don't say fertile, but i am very curious about your test bunch. Let us know how they do. I am guessing they are brown eggs, right?
You can use a cool down cycle but is would be manual. The risk is forgetting to turn it back on. Some set an alarm on their smart phone to remind them. Others go to the incubator, turn it off and then go do the chicken Chores. After the chores are finished, they turn the incubator back on.What about those of us with the Hovabator and no cool down?
