I’m so sorry to read this. I am a novice but my friend had about 2 dozen hens and raccoons got into the enclosure and killed many of them. It happened over 3 nights. He was so distraught, not sure what had happened and put a camera up ... it showed a band of raccoons. Sounds like what likely got you poor girls

I'm sorry for your loss better go bring the live one in the house , And it is a coon or possum . Kill it!!!!! know this if it has ever been caught in a live trap and released. You will never catch it in one a gain . You can leave the kill out as bait and shoot it when it comes back for it. A coon or possum will come back for the kill . This one killed ten before I got it . Would not go in a live trap .

Darn ground is too froze to dig a proper grave so I chucked em in the trash bin. I will surely know if it is a coon if that dirty diaper eating chicken killing heathen tears up my trash bin too.

Headless chicken + partial eaten carcass= coon in my experience.
There is no hope in the suburbs of getting rid of them.
At least fox will take the whole carcass and eat it.

It’s well known that raccoons will kill and rip the heads off chickens. They eat very little and waste the rest. They go into a killing frenzy. I’ve seen it happen before I killed the raccoon. This is nothing new. Kill the raccoons, fix your pen and move on.

You might as well pick up some DP coon traps. They’re easy to set and work pretty well. Electric fence is an option too. I prefer to kill them though.
