Trailer Coop Build (Pic heavy)

I would get some caulking and run a bead along those cracks as water will run down the walls, no biggie but...

I would have done trim around the base this evening but dont have enough to do the corners first. Maybe tomorrow, then caulk.

You have put the bug in my mind. I was thinking seriously about a 2nd coop, have now started looking for a $100 trailer to make it mobile.

I looked for months to find one that was priced cheap, was big enough, and would support the weight. Most trailers the size I wanted here were 800-1000, even homemade p.o.s. ones. Like most things, if you can be patient you can find deals assuming you are within driving range of the city. Feels like I got lucky finding a former camper trailer but any utility trailer would work. Truck bed trailers can sometimes be pretty inexpensively too if the size works for you. It's been fun....at times :D

I am 80km outside of a city of ~1M and I have the time to look. There are lots of dreamers on Kijii and some who have a motivation to move their "junk" so as you say it is just a matter of time. Still thinking about whether I actually need a 2nd coop but I would do a 8' by 12' Woods KD style (my current one is 10' by 16") in KIT format. I can build the panels and assemble after everything is built same as I did with my 1st coop. Have to admit I like the concept of a Mobile Woods.

Who doesn't "need" a mobile coop?! :D

I am grabbing every minute of daylight to work on this. Got a good amount of the trim up, wow it looks so much nicer!

More weather moving in so I tried to get things closed. There was a huge gap under the nest box roof. I installed doors and closed the gaps.

All closed up, I will replace the hook with a hasp later.

Point of this is to collect eggs from outside. These will be rollaway boxes...I hope!

Rollaway ramps are cut, now to add dividers and install it!

NICE! Those are awesome! Mine won't start laying for a few more months (only 3 mos. old) so I think I may order 2 of those myself and do a lil nesting box revision prior to laying time. Thanks for the excellent product suggestion Pip.
