The "issue" is that he cracks us up with his choices of sleeping positions:

We don't even close the door during the day anymore, unless we are going someplace and have to leave him home.

Very cute .. you are a very smart doggie owner.. he'll grow up to love his crate .. and it could save your hide more than once!

Lovely pupper!

Oh yes, he already loves his crate. If/when we give him a new toy, first thing he does is take it to his crate. That's his safe place where he goes whenever he's unsure about his great big world. We plan to take the last divider out this week. He's growing so quickly!

Very very cute

Please if he's crated and no-one is home remove his collar. I've known of more than one pup that has caught the collar buckle or tags in the crate wire & twisted around trying to escape only to strangle themselves.

You are very welcome.
It would be heartbreaking to lose a dog over such a simple thing. I know many have so I'm always reminding people to be extra careful. My dogs both use wire crates and/or x-pens. They go in 'naked' .

Well Mr. Smarty Pants has learned how to open the latches on the door. If I tell him to "go to bed" and the door is closed for some reason, he'll open it.
He just hasn't figured out that works from the inside too.
