@Overo Mare 's Rona crows too. I know several members who have/had crowing hens. Definitely more common than you'd think.Yep, I have an Easter Egger that grows everyday. But, she also lays me an egg average of 5 days a week.

Thank you @nuthatched and @EmmaRainboe for confirming my thoughts about transgender chickens. I knew that sounded a bit strange. I did my research and found that it is true for a hen to grow spurs or crow. You heard misinformation, that's a load of hogwash.
If a hen has severe reproductive issues that mess with her hormones, she may develop male feathers and not lay (and usually eventually succumb to the reproductive issues). But she's still a female. Hens can crow and grow spurs, I've had crowing hens, it's not unusual or a sign of 'turning into a male'.
You're welcome, although I'm curious on why you believe she doesn't lay? Did you vent check?Thank you @nuthatched and @EmmaRainboe for confirming my thoughts about transgender chickens. I knew that sounded a bit strange. I did my research and found that it is true for a hen to grow spurs or crow.
I don’t know why she doesn’t lay eggs.
She may have when she just started, but she was with a lot of the other hens and I couldn’t tell. I know for sure she hasn’t laid for the past 1 1/2 years or so. She is very healthy though!
Thanks!
Hens don't lay every day, especially easter eggers, most hens lay every other day. That is an appropriate number for three hens.Recently I haven’t vent checked her.
For a year or so I had kept her separated with 2 other hens in one of my coops. Everyday I collected the eggs but there were only 2! Strange… it will remain a mystery.
