Transgender Chicken?

So apparently this isnt rare. I baught all female pullets. I have 7 female chickens, 2 of my gals Cocoa and hooter have changed massively. You can tell they are both gals from their breed. Black leghorns. They dont have spurs, just nubs, one doesn't have the Turkey type flaps (hooter) coaca kinda does now. Their flaps on their heads are like swollen fat flaps. I got them no crow collars, because they will crow, not as good as a rooster, but good enough to wake the neighbor's. I live in a rural neighborhood. Yard chickens are fine, but not crowing chickens. Ive been researching this. Everyone says its rare, but its apparently not. I got two of them from a rather large batch of female pullets. You can tell they are ladies, but they grew massive! Compared to my other ladies. I just put a phone call into the University of Kentucky to Dr. Jacklyn jacob, Im pretty sure I spelled her name wrong. But I left her a phone call and a number to reach me. This cant be that rare, if I have 2 out of 7. It makes me wonder if its a breeding issue. Feel free to contact me. 305-619-9107. Im trying to figure this out myself. I got the chickens for my autistic son, because he wanted them, but I fell in love with my cocoa and hooter. I wont caul them, maybe they can be fixed. Or maybe someone at the university can solve and figure out what is going on.

So this is Sarah. She's 21 wk welsummer pullet. She's had this red comb and wattle situation for at least a month. She's the alpha chicken, and super protective of the other girls (to the point of getting aggressive with me when I hold them).

I'm assuming she's a pullet from her coloring, as well as her coloring as a chick. She hasn't crowed at all, but no eggs yet, either. On occasion she'll sit on a roost and open her mouth and hold it open like she's yawning (or crowing?), but no sound comes out. She's also starting to grow spurs.

So here's the question: if her face has been developed and red like this for a month, and still no eggs (no interest in nest boxes etc), do we think she'll still eventually lay? Or is she listing toward the transgendered-problem-with-my-left-ovary crowd?
