Hi everyone!

Our girls are almost 19 weeks. We just got our first egg from a speckled sussex yesterday (yay!) but it was very soft shelled.

I have read so many conflicting posts about transitioning feed. We still have them on chick / grower crumbles and started supplementing oyster shells today in a separate dish. What do you guys feed as your girls get to laying age?

Transitioning to Layer at 19weeks should not cause problems especially if you mix half n half with grower for a few days then 100% layer AND Oyster shells on the side. I managed to not get any jelly eggs for the first time ever with this flock that I transitioned about a month ago.
