I am new here and picking up my flock on Thursday. I intend to get 15 chix (3.5 months old). My question is, how much space do chickens need to be transported 1.5 hrs? Can I travel with them them in a wire brooder beaks-to-butts (like 7 in one brooder and 6 in the other) so they can just sit down or stand, or should they have their own boxes with luxurious amounts of space per bird? A square footage estimate per bird would be really helpful so I can kind of calculate how much space I have vs. what I need. Thanks!
